1. I Can Actually See Everything

My old makeup bag was a black hole. Every morning before lectures I'd tip the whole thing out on my desk just to find one concealer.

This one stays open on its own, like a little doctor's bag. Everything is right there – mascara, lip gloss, brushes – and one squeeze snaps it shut again. Honestly, it's saved me ten minutes every morning.

With a zip pouch, something always escaped. Lip balm in my laptop sleeve, foundation on my notes, bobbles everywhere.

4. It Looks Like Something I'd Pick Myself

Let's be honest – mams don't always get it right. But this one looks the part: soft knit, bold stripes and a hidden frame that clicks shut.

It doesn't look like a 'gift set' at all. It looks like something I'd have found in a boutique myself. There are loads of prints, so there's one for every style.
